The Canadian government is expected to announce a $50 million deal in January with Thales Canada for two new radars for the air force, the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Unnamed sources said the contract will be awarded to a Thales and Raytheon joint venture. Thales will reportedly do much of the integration work on the radars, which will be used to track and control fighter aircraft operations. Deliveries are said to be due in 2012.
