Textron To Supply Additional Armored Vehicles For Army

The U.S. Army has exercised a contract option with Textron Marine & Land Systems for dozens of armored vehicles, reports the New Orleans-based defense firm.
The $50 million contract covers 65 M1117 armored security vehicles (ASVs). Textron has already produced 3,161 ASVs for the Army.
The 4 x 4 ASV features a V-shaped hull design, multi-layered armor against ballistic and mine threats, as well a four-wheel independent suspension.
