A local Tajik commander of the terrorist group known as the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan has been sentenced to life in prison in Tajikistan, RIA Novosti reports.
Anvar Kaumov and five accomplices were charged with the murders of at least nine border guards and police officers, said Tajik judicial officials.
The other suspects were given sentences of up to 11 years, the officials said.
