With Tensions Rising With China, Live-Fire Drills Set For South China Sea

Following disputes with China over territorial rights in the South China Sea, the Vietnamese government has ordered two live-fire maritime exercises, reports the Angola Press Agency.

The exercises will take place Monday in an area off central Quang Nam province, according to an announcement posted by Vietnam's state-owned Northern Maritime Safety Corp., which warned ships and planes away from the area.

The drills are scheduled to last nine hours.
