The Iranian government says it has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that it will start producing higher-grade nuclear fuel on Tuesday, the New York Times reports.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has ordered that uranium be enriched to 20 percent to power a medical reactor, said Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization.
Salehi said the enrichment would take place in the presence of IAEA inspectors and observers.
