The U.S. Air Force has delayed the $35 billion KC-X tanker contract start date to Nov. 12 from an earlier deadline of Aug. 16, the Air Force Times reports.
The Pentagon earlier pushed back the bidding deadline for 60 days so that EADS would have time to put together a solo bid.
The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. (EADS) requested the extension after its U.S. partner, Northrop Grumman, pulled out of the competition. The original deadline to submit bids was May 10. ...
