Talks Underway With Moscow For Pantsyr Air Defense System Upgrade

The United Arab Emirates is negotiating a deal with Russia for the modernization of its Pantsyr-S1 air defense systems, reports Russia’s Tass news agency.
Talks are underway on upgrades for the systems, Rostec officials said last week. No details on the modernization were made public.
The U.A.E. purchased 50 Pantsyr-S1 systems and 1,000 missiles for US$800 million. The systems were delivered from 2009 to 2013.
