Talks Suspended With S. Sudan, With DMZ Being Sticking Point

Talks have broken off between Sudan and South Sudan.

Discussions ended Thursday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, when diplomats were unable to reach an accord on a demilitarized zone along the disputed border, reports Reuters.

Repeated violence broke over in April over the border, with each nation accusing the other of supporting rebels in the disputed territory.

Representatives from the contending countries returned last week to African Union-mediated talks.
