The Taliban has closed, completely or in part, about 50 schools in southeastern Afghanistan in the past week, reports the Washington Post.
The closings were said to be a response to the Afghan government's banning of motorcycles in the southern districts of Ghazni province.
That ban has helped restrict insurgent movements, as intended, said Afghan security officials.
