Taliban insurgents gained control of districts in Afghanistan's north and west over the weekend, reports the Stars and Stripes, citing government officials.
On Sunday, the Taliban overran Kohistan district in northern Faryab province after storming the district government headquarters, said a provincial police spokesman.
