The Afghan government has sent reinforcements to Qala-i-Naw, the capital of the western Badghis province, after the Taliban overran the city, reports the Khaama press (Afghanistan).

The Taliban attacked the city on Wednesday in its first all-out attack on a provincial capital since its current offensive started on May 1, reported Agence France-Presse.
