Coalition officials say that Afghan Taliban militants have stripped a camera from a NATO reconnaissance drone that went down Thursday in Kandahar province, Agence France-Presse reports.
The unmanned aircraft crashed after losing engine power, NATO officials said. The camera was not found when the aircraft was recovered.
Locals reported that the camera was taken by the Taliban. The UAV's camera had no recording capability and was used to transmit images, said officials.
