The NATO commander in Afghanistan says coalition troops have pushed back the Taliban in southern Afghanistan and Kabul, reports the Daily Telegraph (U.K.).
U.S. Gen. David Petraeus said there should not be a sudden exodus of troops when the withdrawal begins next summer.
A drawdown of coalition forces is scheduled to begin in July 2011. Yet, that will not be the moment when the U.S. military looks "for the exit and a light to turn out," he said in an interview with the BBC.
