Fighters from the Pakistani Taliban have kidnapped 23 tribesmen in South Waziristan who recently met with Pakistan's army chief during his trip to the tribal area, the Canadian Press reports.
The captured men and boys will be tried in Taliban courts, with a verdict expected within days, an insurgent spokesman told a U.S. wire service.
The spokesman said the kidnapping was a warning that the group is still active in South Waziristan despite the government's new offensive. ...
