Taliban Forced Into Kandahar City

A coalition offensive in the rural areas of Kandahar province has wound up pushing Taliban insurgents into the city, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The militants have launched a campaign of assassinations and bombings in the city, stalling Afghan efforts to build government institutions.
