The anti-Taliban offensive intensified over the weekend in South Waziristan.

Four Pakistani troops were killed in an insurgent raid in Bajaur, Agence France-Presse reports.

Taliban fighters launched an attack with rockets and small arms on a military check post in that region, said security officials. Six militants were reported killed.
