A hostage standoff has ended at a popular hotel in Kabul, reports Khaama Press (Afghanistan).
Seven insurgents stormed the Spozhmai hotel at Qargha Lake Thursday night, taking hostages and triggering a gun battle with security forces that lasted 11 hours, said police.
Afghan security forces backed by U.S. gunships raided the building Friday morning, killing all the insurgents, said officials.
