Taliban fighters attacked a NATO airbase in Jalalabad in eastern Afghanistan with a car bomb and rocket-propelled grenades on Wednesday, Agence France-Presse reports.
Suicide bombers were also involved in an attempt to breach the gate, Afghan government officials said, as noted by the New York Times.
Several militants were killed and two NATO soldiers were injured, according to a statement from the International Security Assistance Force.
