Taliban Death Called 'Mercy Killing'

A Canadian soldier being tried for killing a wounded Taliban fighter was conducting a "mercy killing," testified a fellow soldier cited by United Press International.
Capt. Robert Semrau has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder charges in the Oct. 19, 2008, incident in Helmand province.
A Taliban fighter was seriously wounded after being shot out of a tree by an Apache helicopter, according to testimony by Cpl. Steven Fournier, who was part of Semrau's team.
