The Taliban in Afghanistan is celebrating the defection of a deputy leader of the Islamic State's affiliate in that country, according the Long War Journal, a U.S.-based website that tracks terrorist activity.
In a video released on Nov. 30, a man identified as Mullah Abdul Razzaq Mehdi is seen encouraging others to follow his lead and leave the Islamic State. The man allegedly defected from the Taliban to the Khorasan Province, then returned to the Taliban.
