There were two explosions in Kandahar city in southern Afghanistan late Thursday, killing up to 11 people and injuring 23 others, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
A suicide car bombers struck the compound of a private security company in the city's business center, known as Aljadid Market, police said.
A second bomber hit a compound housing Western workers, reported the New York Times. Early reports said British citizens were among the dead.
