Israeli soldiers fired on pro-Palestinian protesters trying to cross the border from Syria on Sunday, the New York Times reports.
Thousands of protesters attacked the border fence near the towns of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights and Quneitra in Syria, according to Israeli officials.
Syrians and Palestinians were involved in the border incident, reported the Guardian (U.K.). They were marking the beginning of the Six-Day War in 1967.
