In Symbolic Gesture, German Troops Stationed Near Strasbourg

For the first time since the end of World War II, German troops are being stationed in France, reports London's Daily Telegraph.
A German battalion, part of the Franco-German Brigade, will be based at Illkirch-Graffenstaden outside Strasbourg. It wull ultimately consist of 600 personnel.
The symbolic show of unity was agreed to last year by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. German soldiers have been deploying to the base since April.
