The French Armed Forces Ministry wants to buy loitering munitions from the U.S., reports Defense News.
The army has begun a rapid acquisition process with the goal of obtaining Switchblade munitions through the Foreign Military Sales process within six months, the ministry said.
The move is part of a long-term effort to field remotely operated weapon systems.
