Philippine troops have killed a suspected member of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) and captured his wife in fighting in the southern Sulu province, reports the state-run Philippine News Agency.
On Sunday, soldiers from the 2nd Special Forces Battalion engaged about 30 militants in the remote town of Talipao, said Maj. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, the Joint Task Force Sulu commander.
Following a 20-minute battle, the troops captured Nursaina Jarad Sahi, a suspected ASG member.
