Surplus Courier Aircraft To Serve As Chase Planes For Test Squadron

The U.S. Navy is going to use two business jets as chase planes for one its testing and evaluation squadrons, reports Seapower Magazine.

The Navy's Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 20 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md., acquired two surplus C-38A Courier aircraft from the Air National Guard.

The Couriers will be used as a chase plane for P-8A, E-2D, MQ-4C, E-6B and C-130 testing, said the squadron commander. The planes will also be used as an airborne radar target. ...
