The Syrian army and its allies have regained control of a key town close to the provincial capital of Hama, say rebels and residents cited by Reuters.
The army, supported by Iran-backed Shi'ite militias, stormed Suran on Sunday after dozens of airstrikes believed to be carried out by Russian aircraft.
"There was hysterical bombing that targeted the town and the whole area and rebels fought fierce battles until they were forced to pull out," said one rebel.
