On Wednesday, Kazakhstan agreed to allow NATO to send supplies through its territory to international forces in Afghanistan, Deutsche Presse-Agentur reports.
NATO's primary logistics route in Pakistan has been plagued by attacks, and the alliance has been seeking alternates.
Supplies will start moving between Europe and Afghanistan through the new corridor in the coming days, said NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
