The launch of an experimental U.S. military rocket has failed in Hawaii on its maiden flight, reports NBC News.
The 55-foot Super Strypi rocket was launched Tuesday from Kauai's Pacific Missile Range Facility before it broke apart and veered out of control. The failure took place after a minute of the first stage, said NASA.
The rocket was carrying 13 small satellites provided by NASA and the University of Hawaii, reported SpaceFlight Now.
