Defense Minister Marise Payne has announced that Australia will stop its airstrikes in the Middle East and withdraw some of its forces, reports the Guardian (U.K.).
Six F/A-18F Super Hornet strike fighters will soon be returning home, Payne told reporters in Sydney on Friday.
This does not mean the end of Canberra's commitment to Iraq, said Payne.
