Meeting in Lisbon, NATO leaders set 2014 as the target for withdrawing alliance forces from Afghanistan, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The date was decided upon during a two-day summit.
NATO leaders nevertheless said 2014 was not a deadline and said the transition will be determined by conditions on the ground, noted the Globe and Mail (Canada).
