Suicide bombers in Nigeria's northeastern city of Maiduguri have killed at least 17 people and injured 21 others, say police cited by Reuters.
Four suicide bombers blew themselves up Tuesday night about 10 p.m., local time, in the Molai district, about 3 miles from the city center, said witnesses.
The bombers specifically targeted the members of a civilian self-defense force, said a police spokesman cited by one wire service.
Casualties were reported variously.
