The Russian Defense Ministry says two of its jets intercepted a U.S. bomber after it approached the Russian border, reports the Tass news agency (Moscow).
On Thursday, Russian radar detected a B-52 bomber over international waters in the Baltic Sea.
Two Su-27 fighter jets were dispatched to escort the U.S. aircraft away from Russian airspace and returned to base after the bomber changed course, said the defense ministry.
