Malawi's Defense Minister Sidik Mia is in Beijing this week to discuss defense issues with Chinese officials, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
Chinese officials have expressed an interest in boosting personnel exchanges and expanding areas of mutual cooperation with Malawi – a landlocked country in southeastern Africa with a small military.
The government of Malawi wants to improve bilateral personnel training with China, Mia said.
