Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa visited Moscow this week to discuss the formation of a strategic partnership with Russia, reports RIA Novosti.
A partnership declaration was signed Thursday, as were several agreements involving energy, oil production and military cooperation, according to officials of each country.
Correa is the first Ecuadorian leader to visit Russia.
