Strained Service Being Given Too Many Missions, Says Navy Secretary

U.S. Navy Secretary Richard Spencer has revealed that the service is only able to meet about 50 percent of its ordered missions, reports Military.com.

After two fatal ship collisions in the Pacific over the summer, the Navy may need to review how military commanders are assigning it missions and which it can safely and sustainably accomplish, Spencer told website reporters earlier this week following the U.S. Naval Institute Defense Forum in Washington, D.C.
