Stiletto ICBMs May Serve For 40 Years

Russia’s rocket design bureau NPO Mashinostroyenia says it is working to extend the life of the SS-19 Stiletto intercontinental ballistic missile, reports Interfax-AVN (Russia).

The service life of the UR-100N UTTKh Stiletto missile system is being increased from the original 10 years to 40 years, said a bureau official.

The Stiletto missile was commissioned in 1980 and has undergone several life extensions, increasing its operational life to 35 years.
