Steel Cut At Beginning Of A26 Submarine Program

Swedish defense firm Saab has announced the first construction milestone for a new class of submarines being built for the Swedish navy.
The first steel for the initial boat in the class was cut on Sept. 4 at the Saab Kockums shipyard in Karlskrona, according to a company release on Tuesday.
The sub will be able to operate in all oceans and a range of conflict environments, says Saab.
