Construction has begun on the lead ship of a new class of frigates for the French navy, reports Naval Group, the French shipbuilder.
First steel was cut for the Admiral Ronarc’h, the first of the defense and intervention frigates (FDI) to be built for the French navy, reported the French Ministry of Defense.
The French Directorate General of Armaments approved the final design for the new frigates on May 27 of this year, reported Defense News.
