There have been conflicting reports on the status of an offensive by the Iraqi military to retake the western city of Ramadi back from the Islamic State.
On Friday, Iraq's military said it had advanced on three fronts to begin clearing ISIS fighters from Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province.
The Iraqi air force was hitting "selected targets," said a statement from a joint operations command.
