Zimbabwean State Security Minister Owen Ncube has been slapped with sanctions by the U.S. for alleged human-rights violations, reports Al Jazeera (Qatar). The U.S. State Dept. announced the sanctions on Oct. 25. The sanctions follow allegations by human-rights groups that state security agents have kidnapped at least 20 activists since January as the government attempts to crack down on dissent caused by a worsening economic situation.
