State Dept. Designates Top Malian Militant As Global Terrorist

The U.S. State Dept. has listed a senior Malian militant leader as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.
On Thursday, the department announced that it had added Amadou Kouffa to its list of designated global terrorists.
Kouffa is a senior member of Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM), the Al-Qaida affiliate in Mali and the Sahel region.
