The U.S. Air Force's 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, has re-activated the 34th Fighter Squadron ahead of the delivery of the first operational F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters
KUER in Salt Lake City, Utah, reported on the then-pending reactivation last week. The ceremony was set for mid-afternoon on Friday, according to a release from the wing.
The squadron was disbanded in 2010 as part of a service restructuring plan.
