The Amur Shipyard in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has launched the fifth Steregushchiy-class frigate for the Russian navy, reports Interfax-AVN.
The Sovershenny was put into the water on Friday, and then moved to a dock for outfitting and testing, according to a shipyard spokesman. Sea trials will follow.
The frigate is scheduled to join the Pacific Fleet in Kamchatka before the end of the year.
