The Yemeni army commander in southern Yemen has been killed by a suicide bomber, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) claimed responsibility for an attack on Monday in the port city of Aden that killed Maj. Gen. Salim Ali Qatan and three bodyguards.
The attacker blew himself up near Qatan's convoy in the city's Mansoura district, police said.
