The head of the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) says he has grown increasingly concerned about the rise of extremism in Latin America, reports the Stars and Stripes.
Air Force Gen. Douglas Fraser said this week in Washington that he needs more intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance assets to monitor Venezuela's arms buildup, Iran's growing economic and diplomatic presence and cash flows from the region to Middle Eastern terrorist groups.
