A few female midshipmen in the class of 2010 at the Naval Academy or in NROTC programs could be among the U.S. Navy's first female submariners, the Navy Times reports.
According to senior navy officials, four crews assigned to two Ohio-class nuclear submarines in 2011 will likely include women.
The heads of Fleet Forces Command and the Submarine Force recently set out potential plans for integrating women into the fleet.
