Somali Pirates Hijack Liberian Ship

Somali pirates seized a Liberian-owned bulk carrier on Wednesday in the Gulf of Aden off the coast of Oman, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
The Panamanian-flagged Voc Daisy, with 21 Filipino crew members, was headed toward the Suez Canal when hijacked, said an E.U. Naval Force (Navfor) spokesman.
The vessel's distress signal said that four pirates armed with assault rifles and a rocket-propelled grenade had boarded the ship, said the spokesman.
