At least 200 Nigerian soldiers have been dismissed for cowardice and failure to fight Boko Haram militants, reports the Premium Times (Abuja).
The actions took place on Tuesday at Rukuba Barracks in Jos. The dismissals were related to the failure to capture the Boko Haram stronghold in Samisa Forest.
Some firings were believed to be related to Boko Haram's takeover of Mubi, the second largest town in Adamawa state in October, reported the BBC.
