Bulgaria is sending additional troops to its southeastern border with Turkey to deal with a crush of migrants in the region, reports Agence France-Presse.
The troops will back up the border police if needed, said defense official cited by Serbia's B92 television network.
Prime Minister Boyko Borisov approved and enacted a plan on Thursday involving joint army patrols at the border, said Georgy Kostov, the chief of staff of the Interior Ministry.
